Steam/ctd's

I have been playing the game for a while with almost no problems. Today I have been crashing constantly when I start a new campaign.....everytime. And I load up a saved game it crashes aswell.

I erased the game and Steam. After I reinstalled Steam it said my password was wrong. So I asked for them to send me a new password. Still waiting 1 hour later.

Steam is killing me! With CA's help!

are the steam forums down? not only can i not log into my account due to not having the password( i do know it but it says it is wrong...wtf?) but I can't even get to the forums to see if anyone else is having problems.

are the steam forums down? i ask them to send me an email with my new account. no emails coming at all.

I too am having the exact same issue. I had to reinstall and so just like you it says my Info is wrong. I know for a fact it is not. so I go ahead and do a recover password just to make things easy. well 2 hours later and 5 attempts later still no e-mail.

son of a beach! steam is driving me crazy.

buggy game + steam = a lot of gray hair early in life.

indeed.. I was really looking to have a full night of ETW but Noooo steam has to crap out on me.

Just saw a thread on the Steam boards. Apparently a lot of people are having problems today with logging in.

The CA bugs in Empire are not enough. Some of us must also deal with Steam harassment aswell.

well I am still waiting on that e-mail from Steam seen as how thay claim my Login info is wrong. I know for the fact I put it in correct. Anyone know of a way to install the game and then deal with the steam crap later. I have no intrest in going online with ETW. I simply want to get the game running again. I even tryed making a new account but it won't let me use my game code. I have the Boxed version.

One of the major drawbacks and the reason I gave the game such a low rating on Amazon.com was because of the fact that even though I went out and paid $50 for a hard copy of the game I am unable to install it without Steam.

Steam is useful... if I wanted to download the game and not buy the DVD's. But requiring the use of Steam to just install the game is a bad business decision.

It would be nice if the fact that Steam was required to *install* the game was noted on the box. If I had seen that I would not have bought it at all. Pity too because it is such a good game.
