    Icon5 Unit size

Is it possible to change the unit size after you have already started a campaign? I would really like to be able to use the infantry square formation, but it won't let me with unit size of 40 (wish that was mentioned somewhere in the manual).

    Thanks.

Well, this sucks. There should be an option to do that, or, at least, a way to use the formation with a smaller number of soldiers.

wrong, you can do this, but units already build at 160 will remain at 160... new recruits will be on new settings.

What Booker said. I've tried and tested it. You can change the unit size, but all units currently with, say 160 men will stay at 160 men, but newly-recruited regiments for the unit you edited will have the current value

Good to know its possible, I thought it was not. You need just to change the options in the main menu?

Lets see, well I don't know about changing the unit size from the menu, but you can use the packfile manager (or whatever its called) and go Empire total war-->data-->patch-->db-->unit_land_stats (something like that) and then find whatever unit you want to edit and then find the unit size column, and then its all easy from ther (just make a backup of your patch folder)

Just make sure you don't do what i did and change the file in appdata to have units at 5 times normal size for a test battle then forget until after a couple of turns of the GC. There's still a few units of 900 men running around.
