Need trade...

I am playing as the Dutch and I cannot get anyone to trade with me no matter what I do (state gifts, money, tech) I had the same problem with the Maratha Confederacy. Is this an over site by CA or am I missing something?

Help? My economy is crippled...

When I get trade agreements with a neighbor going, by land. All the AI does is cancel it the next turn then after that ask for another agreement again then they cancel that one, repeat. So effectively I cant build up trade on a few of my campaigns either.

I had the same problem with trade so I invaded India to get money. After taking about half of India five countries offered to pay me to trade with them. I don't get it.

I don't think so, I have a monopoly on the east Indies spices, and lots of sugar, and Ivory as well. It's weird.

if you haven't done so try ending a turn with a lot of cash.

Ive tried giving countries 50k and 10 technologies with no luck, then ended the turn with 25k and got offered all kinds of trade offers. (oddly enough from the ones i offered 50k and 10 technologies to)

I'll try. But when I say crippled, I mean just that. I'm making like 800 per turn.

ive tried giving countries 50k and 10 technologies with no luck, then ended the turn with 25k and got offered all kinds of trade offers. (oddly enough from the ones i offered 50k and 10 technologies to)

If thats the mechanics behind it then forget it. If I had that much I wouldnt need trade.

they were offering trade for only about 300, i had just never ended a turn with more than 100 to 200 in cash

It happends to me to sometimes. I think its because you are maybe a small nation that doesnt have a high prestige or strength.

When other nations wont trade with me, I expand my nation and my military strength, and after a few turns they agree for trade.
