Download the file linked in the first post
    1. Unzip the file using a program such as WinRar, which can be downloaded from here
    2. Copy the subfolders into the location described in the name of the two main folders, this may trigger a merge folder pop-up (depends on OS), click yes

The in depth location for the script is:

    VISTA C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

XP C:\Documents and Settings\(Your User Name Here)\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts, possible variation between OS's, but from appdata onwards it will all be the same.

    • To understand that you have DarthMod installed watch a line infantry to have 110 range.
That should help for any mod, but specifically for DarthMod.

You need to edit the user script in the above folder.

You have to put the mod info in the user file.

    Go to

    VISTA
    C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

    XP C:\Documents and Settings\(Your User Name Here)\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

and type '#mod "SmokeModFull.pack";' without the first and last ' but with your mod.pack instead.

So do I create a NEW text file titled #mod "SmokeModFull.pack and leave its contents blank?? Jeez adding mods to MTWII was far easier.

Easier way, use ModManager (even a Monkey can do it)

Just extract it into your data folder. Run the program, and check any mod you want to run. You can disable mods via uncheck also. Make sure you use the launch button in that software after each change. Afterward you don't need to run ModManager again to start Empire, unless you want to enable/disable mods.

First of all make sure you extract all of the content of ModManager zip files into data folder, not just ModManager.exe
Second, there is a probability the mod you download isn't set as "mod" type. But instead could be "patch" type which doesn't show as mod, but instantly applied into the game.

Now, tell me where did you extract the mod into? Type in the full lenght of your Empire data location.
    example
    C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data

Take out the quotation marks. Some people say use them, and some people also have no trouble with mod manager.

My user.empire_script.txt has no quote marks in it.

Try it, I hope it works out!
