The game keeps going after the limit.
You will get a message that says, "continuing playing?"
You will "lose", but you can keep playing.

I know that but I actually want to "win" the game if you know what I mean. It's kind of pointless to play after the time limit unless you want to control every territory. Is there atleast a mod that allows you to edit turns per year so I can make the game longer?
I see. Will this do?

Ahhh yeah that will work. Thanks for the help.
Arbitrary Crusader, do you have any idea on how to use the turn editor in that link? I actually had to download an ESF editor to edit turns.
Sorry, I never touch any modding stuff from ETW and so on
I believe this is the instruction the OP put( Not sure if you didn't read, just in case.)
Open up startpos.esf (the one in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data\campaigns\main ) in your favorite hex editor.
Then go to the following location: 569104 ( in hex it is 0008af10 ) (you can use the go to function (usually ctrl-g) to go there without scrolling).
Right there it should say 02 00 00 00, this is the amount of turns per year. For changes up to 9 turns per year you can simply change the 2 to the required number.
If you want more you'll have to start thinking in hex. This only works on the grand campaign, not on the road to independence.
For the 4 billion turns per year change 02 00 00 00 to FF FF FF FF.

I've used this tool before. You only have to open the startpos.esf or the savegame you want to edit in the program(the vanilla startpos for Grand Campaign is in Steam/steamapps/common/empire total war/data/campaigns/main, if I recall correctly)it opens directly at the campaigns folder, just open the /main startpos. Then you just make your changes and save. Make sure you have Microsoft .Net 3.5 Framework or newer, and that you make a backup of the file you are editing.

On a similar note, can you remove the time factor for the long and short campaigns altogether, so that the win is based on simply achieving the objectives? I normally do this long befoe 1750/1799 and it can be an awful bore having to wait around, because by that stage you're normally powerful enough to remain supreme anyway...
Hi all. I write here hoping it's the right thread.
I reinstalled Empire total war (played it last time a couple of years ago) and before downloading full mods like Imperial Splendour or Darth Mod (tried and liked both), I first would like to play Vanilla version again.
However I would like to change the game from 2 to 4 turns per year (I found a lot mods for that), but I didn't find a modification doing that and also slowing the tech rate according to the number of turns per year.
If I recall correctly Imperial Splendour had something similar to that (I may be wrong about this).
By the way, is there anything else that could not work properly and need a fix when using the 4 turns per year modification? Just wondering.
I am not lazy, but I am trying to save some time... I tried some advanced searches in this forum but unsuccessfully, that's why I am asking here.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
By the way, if this is the wrong section, I apologize...and please let me know.

HELLO GUYS,
I have installed and played ETF on my pc. (windows 7 ultimate 64 bit) I have played greatly for few hours...I have saved my progress. The day after, I launch the game but if I try to start any campaign or load my save, the loading bar appears and then it crashes to desktop.
Why? What can I do about it? please help, I love this game.......
Hello ,
Can anyone help with finding units packs for empire total war ?
I just search for packs , I don`t want mods .
Empire Total War was a richer game than NTW. With NTW there came out ... no fire by rank, volley fire by only the first line, and robotic animations when FBR was switched on. So when in NTW these things were reintroduced, it didn't suffice to be switched on, but had to recopy the ETW animations. And the BAI was nothing new, aside of some new death animations. But since there were such new for ETW too, that wasn't a big deal. Switching on Empire to Napoleon style is plain wrong. And to that - by retaining its difference to NTW one can play both games without bore, while otherwise there's just one game. I prefer two different, richer, in diff epoques. The only thing NTW can be credited for, is some improvement on the visuals. But still, there are visual enhancements for ETW independant from the NTW ones, as good as them.

I'm looking for a mod that only changes the CAI, or at least has "vannilesque" feel to it. Mostly want to be able to do some real diplomacy without the AI rejecting completely reasonable deals.

Does anyone have a link or can seed on torrent ?
Forgot to add i can also not see what kind of units they are in a timely manner, unlike in the old Shogun
Thanks.
I have another request: My old fave of this kind of game was the old Shogun: Total War.
However, when i try to fight in ETW, i realize the men look like ants, i can barely see anything,
and they are so small i can barely hit them with the charge button, i kind of miss.
So my question is: Is there a mod that make the soldiers bigger ?
it would in an instant make this my favorite, but as of now the fighting just is no fun so i'm stuck with administration
