Plus I think they have the biggest numbers. Use DMUC 6.2 with patch 7.0

In most of my games they seem to hold off everyone (except when I'm attacking ) untill 1730. Then they usualy crumbell before my feet I've seen other nations die more quickly than the Ottomans though. In my current campaign as Spain the year is 1720 and Austria is getting raped by France (took Vienna and Munich), Poland (took Hungary) and Prussia (took Prague) Need to stop those Frenchies if I ever want their lands

They seem to go beserk with power when they're a republic.

I mostly meant to make them a little stronger, every time, Georgia seems to dominate them.

Hmmm, dunno. When the AI controls them they always seem to be able to hold on to their borders and do well.. Well, until the Marathans invade...

When I play as them I like the challenge

Short of using DMUC, I would suggest using AUM 3.2 or one of the specific mods that adds to the Ottoman unit roster. I find when using AUM 3.2 (All Units Mod) that the Ottomans will recruit the better units and rarely seem to get steam rolled before I get to them. Normally they are my best ally in fact. And those blasted Organ Guns of theirs are a real pain the backside at times!

He is the only animal that for sordid wages will march out...and help to slaughter strangers of his own species who have done him no harm and with whom he has no quarrel. ..And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for "the universal brotherhood of man"-- with his mouth.

Why can you recruit Organ Guns at the first turn?

The Turks historically took to gunpowder artillery like flies to a fire. As far as turn of the 1700's metallurgy goes, they were significantly ahead of Europe when it came to casting cannons.

There was no reason for Europe to make Organ Guns - they didn't know how to fashion multiple barrel cannons on that level to begin with (though they did use the Ribeault for a time), and with new Munition inventions, they never really had a reason to try making them. Organ guns take extra long to reload, and if you just had 6 cannons instead of 1 organ gun, you'd have more firing speed and flexibility regarding Munition without sacrificing too much in volley power.

Thus, only the Turks could build crazy cannon designs like the Organ Gun. You can only use round shot, they take longer than anything else to reload, but oh baby that one volley... 36 round shots at once is like a ghetto version of Shrapnel Shot.

In E:TW it also takes 5 turns to make one OG unit, and you know the Ottomans have ZERO starting infrastructure. So you're using your 1 recruitment slot for 5 turns to build one, which can be tricky.

They always do well in my games, if you have the eastern units DLC they seem to do super well with all those new units. The ottoman empires only weakness is their lack of infastructure and their musket janiserries suck, but their sword ones are probably the most cost effective unit in the game.

Um, pass... have never played as the Ottomans sorry. All I know is those blasted organ guns make a real mess of my troops if I make a tactical booboo.

You never played as them? They're crappy early game, but late-game, those Nizam-I-Cedots can fight better than Prussia's line infantry.

    Default Is There A Mod???

    Hey fellas,

Is there a Mod that allows you to "See and Play" the entire world, just like you can in Victoria 2? Right now, as it is, I can't play as or even land my troops in Africa, or South America. Nor in the west part of America.

    Thanks for any help.

Those parts of the map are not even in the game.

The modders are trying to figure out how to add on to the map, unfortunately the game files are a lot more complicated since M2.

Make one yourself. We'll all send you medals. That kind of mod is the holy grail of Warscape modding.

Default Looking for a simple mod that changes starting points / adds factions

Thoroughly checked the mod section, maybe I just didn't find it, hopefully someone here can assist me.

I love Empire TW, but I loathe the starting areas for the factions, how they each faction starts out with territories spread out across the different theaters. I just want to pick any faction and have all their starting territories right next to each other. Also, more starting factions would be nice too!

Is there a mod that allows this? I have the latest version of the game I believe, as I downloaded it through steam.

Also, I tried this mod: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=242764

I followed the steps carefully, but in the end the editing program would crash and I got no results.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Mmmh, why would you want to play a mod with inaccurate and ahistorical starting po's ? Not my bussiness thoug, the mod may exist but you might have to mod yourself. If you can't find it look in the modding part of Empire so you can mod the text file. I don't think it's that hard. You could always ask help to an experienced modder, most of them would gladly help you hope this helped a bit

Darthmod Empire has one of the best, and is well respected. I'd highly suggest that!
