here it is http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=350349
but i dont think darthmod unlocks factions it just reballinces the game and removes bugs in vanilla
Regular DM doesn't, but DMUC does unlock factions.
Is there any kind of comprehensive realism mod?
Hi, this is my first time to post here and I just want to ask if there's a MOD/re-textures for Vanilla Units, what I mean is I just want to change the default skins of the soldiers (Line Infantry, Militias, etc) I bought an Empire Total War:Gold Edition and I'm trying to tweaked some of the details on it. I tried DMUC and I don't like it (no offense for DM's fanatics out there - own opinion). I downloaded some re-textures and it only cause my unit to CTD (United Province re-texture full <-- this causes those CTD's I think).
I just want to re-texture the default units, meaning I don't need any AUM's. Can someone please lend me the links for these. Thanks and more power to this wonderful and helpful site.
Looking for a mod that has all of the Indian factions as playable in Grand campaign.
thanks

You'll have better luck if you ask your question here.![]()

mine is a ww1 mod for etw.
to make ww1 infantry just decrease the reload time from the line infantry, change the skin and change the reload animations
for calv well reskin them because calv was still used then
for tanks try using artillery as the basic, reskin them increas the speed and defence because the artillery canon simulates the tanks
artilery you can reskin them and increase the range
and for war ships reskin them decrease the reload time.
planes were not usefull yet so i'll be better not to put them in
just remake the flags rename some countries and give them accurate territoies
I believe there is a "Great War" mod for NTW, but not for ETW, sorry.
Are there any mods that improve the battle AI? I haven't had much luck looking. I'm after one that does nothing but modify the AI. I was hoping the latest patch would improve things, but the AI's still pretty stupid.
Actually, if there's one that improves things like when the AI chooses to engage that'd be nice too. Eg attacking a missile cavalry army when they have only swordsmen, with the force meter somehow rating it as an even fight...
You would have to define what you mean by improve.
There are a number of mods that try to make the battlefield behaviour of the AI more realistic in terms of 18th century warfare, but many players aren't really interested in that level of accuracy.
Whether there are mods that simply make the AI harder to beat I can't say. There are lots of mods that adjust stats and perform game balancing activities, and mods that adjust weapon performance, but whether you would consider this an improvement is a matter of personal judgement.
Linky linky to my last.fm profile! Clicky clicky! If you like anything that ranges from breakbeat to downtempo/chillout, from house to drum & bass, you might find something new in between! (Artist suggestions are more than welcome)
Well I did a video review of probably the most serious attempt to get it right.
If you can put up with my rather boring presentation skills, it goes through all the issues that the mod tries to address and shows what the results are and what shortcomings remain.
More popular mods I've tried include TROM (The Rights of Man) which is a compilation mod that includes a number of battlefield and naval improvements. I particularly like the naval improvements in this mod.
A link to The Rights of Man description thread is here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=303994.
It doesn't quite go to the same extremes to achieve historical accuracy as Kauntiz but it is a full campaign mod rather than just a battle mod.

I'm really after something that makes the AI less stupid, rather than harder to beat through some unfair advantage. It's easier to think of silly things the AI does which I wish it didn't.
Mostly, the current AI doesn't seem to properly understand what units counter what other units but rather just goes by the force meter. Also:
*Not keeping its forces together in battle.
*No use of defeat in detail.
*Doesn't manage unit stamina well. Ie does not attempt to rest units before sending them into the fight, often after they've been running across the map.
*Doesn't react when specific units are losing their combat. That's a big part of Total War games; when one group of your troops are losing you react (pull them back / try to reinforce them / flank their opposition). Nobody would just keep their units standing there, losing the fight, without good reason!
Im looking for a mod where you can upgrade all the cities to becoming as large as for example London.
For example, Norway,Christiania thats a small city, i would like to be able to upgrade the city to be as big as London
is there a mod that allows all the minor factions avaliable? I really want to play as persia and the knights of st jon i think. Or is it just the empire total factions mod?
dan da man wit da plan
all hail the mighty money cheat
I like APE:TI but due to it not being updated anymore I was thinking about switching to DM. So I was wondering, does DM or DMUC offer the some of the same campaign features as APE? Like a more complex recruitment system with supplies and manpower and high resistance when taking settlements to prevent steamrolling the map and more expensive costs and upkeep so you're not rolling in money early in the game?
