prefs editing

im trying to change a value in my prefs file to unlock ultra settings, but whenever i make the change it dosen't show in the game. why is this?

Do exactly this:

First, go to Control Panel > Folder Options > click on View Tab > check Show Hidden Files, folders, or Drives.

Then go to: Computer > Your HDD > Users > Your Name> APP Data > Roaming > The Creative Assembly > Empire > Scripts > preference.empire_script

Look for the following line:

gfx_video_memory 0

Instead of 0, set the value to 536870912, which is equivalent to a 512 video card.


This is on windows 7. Should be exactly the same on Vista. A bit different on XP, just under your Documents.. I think.

It should work, and if it does not, I have no idea what the problem is.
