so, Ca, there is a quote about the charge of the light brigade saying " it is glorious but not war". Is this a reference to my wish for the trooper to be in the game

Yeah, it was one of the French generals I think.

They always miss out the last bit of the quote, it makes it even more epic.

I believe I've seen footage where Dickinson quotes a bit from it before they start playing.

He usually does the "cannon to right of them, cannon to left of them, cannon in front of them, volley'd and thunder'd" bit before the song on live shows, yup

I made a post a few months ago asking creative assembly to put the song, The Trooper in ETW. I was not implying that the words of this post were the name of the song, the name of the song is the trooper. Do not disrespect Iron Maiden! Thank you Oswald

What he means is the quote in game is clearly a reference to the poem, not the Iron Maiden song (which is also a reference to the poem). He shouldn't have called you dumb, but ETW does not in fact reference the song lol. They oth reference the same event/poem.

It's not a reference to the poem, it's just what it says on the loading a screen - a quote from a French observer who was present at the battle, and said "C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la guerre." Or words to that effect. Tennyson didn't come up with the words.
