    Default Missing settlement files

    Sorry I've been having a bunch of questions lately but there's one fairly annoying issue that I've been too lazy to try and fix. It seems I'm missing some of the settlement files... More specifically, I think I'm missing the files associated with walls/fortifications. Whenever I have to fight a siege the game switches to desktop during loading to show me some error messages. Usually they say can't find descr_something (there are a ton so I didn't note them down). Once I click 'ok' on all of them and return to the game, it finishes loading normally but fails to display some of the walls. Usually the gates and towers show up alright but everything else is invisible. And I mean invisible - not inexistant. The defenders are there, hanging in mid-air and waiting for me behind these walls of air.

    The weird bit is that I've also had a bunch of error messages like that when attacking a settlement with no walls. When I switched back to the game literrally everything was in place and I fought the battle as normal. I was intrigued so I looked around and nothing seemed to be missing... So why did I get errors that time?

    So for the most part I've been avoiding sieges completely (either auto-resolving or besieging for one turn and then targeting the reinforcing troops to lure the garrison out and destroy them in the field), but I'm sick of it. What should I do - just download the mod again and re-install it? And would this cause me to lose my current campaign?

    Thanks for any help.

    EDIT
    I just re-installed the mod. Same thing keeps happening. And I was wrong about the missing files being descr_something, I think I confused that with something else. Anyways here are the error messages I'm getting when loading Corinth.

    Wooh. Hopefully that was worth typing

    I checked in the game folders. There is no /models_walls/ directory in either the RTW folder, the BI folder or the XGM folder. So what the hell? The one-in-a-million faulty installation??

    Fixed it. Forget I ever posted that.

    If you happen to have the same problem, re-install xgm and DON'T use the BI exe. I have no clue why this is happening... The mysterious /models_walls/ folder is still not there but for some reason it's working now.

    When you use the BI exe option the installer tries to grab a bunch of other stuff from your BI install (mostly new building models for settlements on the battlemap). In your case the installer is not finding the stuff it wants. that might be because your BI folder is not in the location that you are installing to, or it might be because there is stuff missing from your BI install. Or it might be something else I haven't thought of.

    Yes I am aware of that. The part that I don't understand is that this /models_walls/ folder does not exist on my computer, yet somehow the game loads walls and all that stuff perfectly well with the RTW exe.

    BI exe -> error messages about the missing folder, which I cannot find anywhere
    RTW exe -> works perfectly

    The RTW exe surely most work like the other one, and should need that folder to display walls as well, no? The question now isn't why it's not working but why it is...

    Hope that makes sense. I'm just curious
