    Default Hail geeks

Hello. I was just wondering how to unlock all factions for campaigns in Medieval II. I tried copy/paste the unlockables in the descr_strat file in Medieval II Total War\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign. I can't save the file afterwards, on grounds that it's either protected or (when I off the protection) or not an approved road for the file.
    Any thoughts?

Sorry about that, lame attempt at humor, who'd've thought I took it to far? Shame on me. I am in fact using vista. Does that help/damage things in any way?

the best way is to do this:

open the file you want, and edit it

then (with it still opened) delete the file

    then save it

    and voilá

I had this problem before... did you try clicking on the file's properties and then under attributes it will say Read-Only and Hidden? Make sure Read-Only is unchecked. Then you'll be able to save.

By default all files of the data directory are read-only. And that's what you get: READ only.
Do as al5ka26v says and you will be happy.

General Tip - install your games into different folder like C:\Games, else a lot of your files will end up in the 'Virtual Store' and you will come back asking "Where the frick are my files?".
