1st Ship of the Line

how do you get that ship? I am playing Prussia and i cant seem to get the First Ship of the Line. I looked at all technological advanecs, and i never see the ship. Is my maximum as Prussia the Second ship of the line?

The first rates come from steam shipyards, which require the steam engine technology.

The two possible (normal and steamdock) shipyards become available by researching the proper technology. One being the steam technology and the other by researching a technology i can't remember precisely. When building the yard you have to choose between the two types, the steamdock offers steam boots the other doesn't.

I could be wrong but as fas as i remember correctly its somethig likes this. So the 1st rate's should be available for Pruissia.

Yes, when you have an option of one of two buildings make sure that you look at what each one offers. At worst you can always destroy the one you built when you wanted the other one.....

The navel hospital produces more experienced units but the steam drydock allows the production of at least steam ships, 1st rates, admirals 1st rate and heavy 1st rates (the last one is not for all nations).
