Armies reforms need a lot of work and makes things complicated to a single modding team...
Btw would you like such a reform?
With weak infantry and only few realy strong units after 1204?![]()
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material

the byzantines did have a couple units yiou didnt put in the mod:
1. they did have horse archers
2. the Mourtatoi was another archer unit
BC can easily put Turcopolai in the Roman reqruitment pool and be mostly realistic!
Murtatoi can easily be a turcomanic heavy archer unit in the Roman army...
But...in a single mod we can not have them all! That way it would need years of development and most of the fans would not wait that long!
After all in BC armenian HA are available as cheap mercs!![]()

but you Know what Anthu I guess ERE's roster is one of the best rosters ever, it's historical and looks great... for me I don't care if the turcopolai are in or out since you have alot of badass units to fight with...
if you want to have the historical armies of the 13th century ERE,then lose constaninople to the crusaders or any other factions and lose many cities in Anatolia,Trebizond to the ottomans.. in this case your income is screwed say bye bye for recruiting heavy infantry and cataphracts, you will only have to train milities and light infantry troops to defend your realm..and that's exactly what happened to ERE after the 1204 catastrophe

Strange, I find that (Basilea ton Romain) late-campaign to be more fun than any of the others, in fact I find most factions in Stainless Steel to be mimics of each other: the Genoese have nothing of their own except the Familiga Ducale and the Voulge Infantry, other than that, they are horribly bland. Their Crossbowmen are nothing special with a bit more armor.
Venice has the Heavy Infantry, which look cool, and are good but that's their one defining unit. The Sicilians Norman Infantry and mounted, again one defining unit. France has maybe 2-3 units which isn't bad, same with the Germans and Denmark, but for the most part they feel cloned.
The (true) Romans on the other hand have an entire roster full of unique looking and controlling units this really only happens in the Basilea ton Romaion Sub mod, they possibly have too much heavy cavalry, but at least if you can't afford the best, their next up is very good too, and the one behind that, and behind that all the way to their Stratotai (sp?)
I have to be honest though, the units in Basilea ton Romain sub mod are much prettier looking than BC's units, in fact, BC's ERE units look totally bland compared to CBUR units. However, on the whole BC's factions feel different from one another. The Kypchaks, the KoJ, etc, none feel like the clones SS factions do.
The point I meant though, is that I love the challenge, even the 20-30 extra turn that the CBUR sub-mods late campaign added to it. Sorry it took me so long to get around to that.

cause there is an edit button. it possible through triggers to make some kinda reforms but then we might as well do reforms for the ayyubids and Koj when they get in the late crusades.

what's wrong with all the people,BC is the best textured mod i have ever seen,in fact its the only one, others have clone armies or are too small to play(RusichiTW)so BC looks outstanding,it just needs a couple of more factions thats all, apart from that BC is majestic
This mod is great. The Byzantine or ERE roster I think is perfect to depict the style of warfare the ERE was faced with. There units are very dark ages compared to the likes of the Seljuks with their fast mobile armies of horse arches. After all one of the biggest factors in the downfall of the ERE was the fact that they stuck to the old traditional styles of warfare instead of reforming to more modern tactics and doctrines. The units are bland??? Well lets just say that I have now played many a mod for ME2TW and Kingdoms. I have to say that the BC roster for ERE is possibally the most diverse and interesting roster I have come accross, long live the Spathatioi

"WE WILL SMITE THE INVADERS FROM OUR SKIES! Though they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter, never again will we bow before them; never again endure their oppression; never again endure their tyranny. We will strike without warning and without mercy, fighting as one hand, one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares, drenching our ancestors' graves with their blood. And as our last breath tears at their lungs; as we rise again from the ruins of our cities...they will know: Helghan belongs to the Helghast." -Scholar Visari
Funny this thread just came up. I have been playing an Ayyubid Egyptian campaign and the ERE just declared war on me. They moved 3 full stacks immediately to seige Antioch. I sallied out with one of my full stack elite veteran armies to try and relieve the defenders. The ERE manuvred 3 full stack armies around me and attacked. I made a good stand, but the over all result wasn't so good. Antioch fell to the ERE the next turn. Now I count a total of 10 full stack ERE armies moving into my Syrian occupied provinces. This I think is going to be one hell of a bloody and expensive war. Moral of the story is that wether you are playing as the ERE or not, they are still fun as hell to try and killSE.
