Where is all the Money going?(AI question)

In my Dutch campaign, i've managed to get an incredible income pretty quick, around 1730's i think.All that money had no use for me, so i started to supply my puppet nations/weaker sides of big wars with 5/10k money per turn, i even gave prussia 200K once, to save them from destruction.

But what i dont understand is they dont seem to be using my money, Prussia was about to be destroyed and was lef with one region, in a period of 5 turns they recieved 300K from me, but neither diplomacy screen nor their shows they received the money, they are just sitting around in their capital with half a stack waiting for bitter end.

Has anyone noticed this?Could it be a balancing thing to keeping AI from getting too powerful by blocking their access to player sent money?

But seriously, the same thought has struck me as well, do the AI actually receive the money the player sends? I'm not really sure. I can't really say about ETW but in previous titles huge sums for allies to attack a shared enemy only resulted in a measly 2-3 units army for invading. Where did the money go? Not for buildings that's for sure, too much money to be able to spend on buildings alone. This was the amount that would make their economy rating skyrocket in the diplomacy screen yet their wealth was classified as poor. Could this be the case of ETW? I hope not.

AI is broken. If they did what they should do they` be using it to do ship invasions and such.

Well, a factions wealth rating is determined by using income and expenditure (mouse over it in the diplomacy screen and it explains), and is relative to other factions. I'm not sure if a one-off payment is therefore taken into account. So I wouldn't rely on that to see how much money they have. Try using regular tribute instead. Might work better.

Anyway, the AI definitely uses money upgrade buildings- I bankrupted France (properly bankrupted, it shows up on their settlement status screen) and they were building stuff using my gifts.

Make them protectorates, give em money and when you declare war against some1 the AI kicks in. I usually give em tech and $$, they bring a full stack

Doesnt help when the already poor and weak nations the AI has cant even declare a ceasefire. They end up at war with everyone and trading with nobody. Its like CA didnt even try with the campaign AI.

Jup, Or the fact that If you declare war. Better not ask your allies for help, they start a war but wont start peace. Instead they block your trade routes to your previous enemy. Sounds logical... So I stopped asking the AI for anything, hell we can use the same excuse that was used in medieval.

ITS CALLED TOTAL WAR!!!

Apart from the jokes, i think it's a major issue.If they are receiving and not using it, it's a general AI issue there is no point keeping this thread going, but if the ai is prevented from receiving the money i think it should be fixed ASAP.A big gameplay killer for me.Thank you all for your answers.
