New Beta Nvidia Drivers

New nivida beta drivers are up bringing it to 185.65. I'm not sure if the new drivers allow SLI with empires but downloading now to check and to see if any performance increase or not.

Will post back with results later.

Different drivers i'm afraid. That thread is the latest official stable drivers, i was showing the latest beta drivers. This one is from the 185 series whilst that thread is using the 182 series.

If you follow the discussion (post #4) jmbuehler posts this;

"No SLI support for this driver. Much more interestingly, the 185.65 Beta driver was released today. The 185 series is developed by a seperate porgramming team, and allows for driver level Ambient Occlusion. But although the early 185.20 did allow for SLI with Empire, this version sadly does not.
So anyone wanting to go SLI still has to use 181.22 as this seems to be the only stable driver offering this support. Very annoying indeed. CA really must have pissed Nvidia off at some point..."

It's to be expected - there are way too many threads.

Basically, if you have SLI use 181.22.

I don't have SLI nor do I want it. Microstuttering is still an issue.

Pissed Nvidia off? Nvidia shouldn't base their driver development on personal feelings towards a software developer!

If they really did, then they certainly pissed me off and I'm the one deciding whether to spend my money on the next nvidia graphic card or not. ^^

He wasnt sure if they are pissed at CA probably not. Seems nvidia optimises their driver for other games and Empire maybe isnt working so good as they want so no SLI.
Lets hope the next driver has SLI, nhancer software could help getting it to work. SLI only need profils to work.

Beta drivers are now on 185.66, with some minor bug fixes and whilst not ETW related i have noticed some significant improvement on performance for COH:OF and Fallout 3.
