    Default Slow Motion

    Hello All,

My apologies in advance if this has been addressed already, I could not find a definite answer in the threads i read.

When I reduce the battle speed by pressing the "slow motion" button the battle sounds dissapear.

Is this a bug or is this intended?

Either way is there any indication that there will be a change/fix?

If not, is there a way to reduce speed manually like in other TW games?
Or perhaps a mod that does this? Or should i just go in and start halving the movement/firing rates on all my units?

    Thanks!

I thought it's some sort of feature? Like in some movies - when they enter slow motion, the sound disappears and you only hear the music...

    Cooommmme baaaaack heeeeere yooooou raaaabbiiiiit!

Outside of cartoons, it might be tough to slow the sound down. It would sound so strange its probably best left off.

musket firing and horse gallop sound bits would have to be stretched out to match the speed of playing (in this case, slow motion) and would most likely be distorted or sound horrendous. the same goes for 2X speed and 4X spee

More than that, sometimes when pressing ESC and then getting back into game, I have my sound get borked -(

All the speed options except normal don't have normal sounds. It makes sense, sounds would have to be stretched out or speeded up and that would sound silly!

I wish there was a speed between the Slow and Normal speed. Like a Slormal speed.

It's intentional. The sounds only play at normal speed.

The problem with the vanilla game is that it goes to motherflippin' fast on normal and so to have any chance of playing you have to play on slo-mo for 90% of the battle (land or sea) to not take undo casualties.

My suggestion is to get a mod that slows land and naval combat to the point that normal speed is the speed you want to/can play at 90% of the time and only occasionally play at slo-mo for delicate parts rarely.

Stupid devs trying to make their game "accessible to a casual audience" by speeding the game up to the point you need to play it in slow mo.

imagine CA putting benny hill music whenever you speed up the battle

But in M2TW when you played in Slow Motion you could still here the sounds, but just less frequently. Like there would still be sword sounds, yelling and marching, but not as frequent. They should apply the same thing to ETW, muskets and sword play can still play sound at normal speeds. Will make the game better than the muteness we get now.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I too used the slow option extensively in M2TW (you held down shift and clicked the speed arrow.) It is a shame that SEGA made such a beautiful engine that we cannot fully enjoy (with sound i mean) because things happen so fast.

So from what folks have said this is a "feature" rather than a bug, so i guess i should not expect it to be changd.

Does anyone know a mod that slows down unit speed?

    Thanks again
