How to get alternative views while ship battling

How can you see from the deck while shipbattling on empire total war?, all I can do is see the ship from far out, however I want to be with my crew when they are fighting, how do i do this?

You need to edit a file in your Application Data, and set it to the debug camera. Try using the search function in the mod workshops and you'll probably find some instructions for it.

Press the 'delete' button while the ship is selected. Works with land units, too. Scrollwheel changes perspective.

Still not very useful..only 2 diferent views and if its a large ship its on the lower decks.

Yup, I get the same even with the mouse wheel. You are below deck with 2 views.

If you have XP, go to:
C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts

And look for a file called "preferences.empire_script"

Open the file, press ctrl+F and type in "default_camera_type". Find the "1" after this entry. Change the "1" to "2". Now you will have no restrictions on the camera. You can even swing your camera underground or under the water (thought this is buggy, as it is unintended). Also you can even bring your camera outside of the usual map boundaries.

If you use the debug camera, AND the del (or is it insert?) key in naval battles, the camera will "lock" onto the deck of the ship, BUT, you can still move the camera, so in essence it is like you are "walking" the decks of the ship.
