Build list

I've experienced in previous Total War titles that, no matter how long you play them, there are always some features of the game you still didn't know.

Therefore I'll ask this one: Is there a way (a list or something) to find empty building places or buildings that can be upgraded? That would be really useful.

the only way that i've seen to know what needs/can be upgraded is the floating gold symbol above the building/town.

But thanks for the quick reply.
The feature I asked about would be really helpfull though, it can take quite some time to check your territory for those symbols, especially as some regions tend to be quite confusing when zoomed out.

theres a buildings list button which i rarely use. It's under the government button and shows all buildings and sites within a region i think

Yes, I am aware of that, but as you said, it shows only the buildings for one region and it's still quicker to check the buildings on the map.

What I do is say select any Farm then click the arrow next to it's name in the middle panel. It cycle through all the farms and I can see which one are in the upgrade process or can be upgraded.
Select a port and it shows all the ports.. etc.. It works for buildings, armies as well as towns.

This is going to be your best option to achieve anything like the list you're looking for.

Hm, it doesn't work for me that way. If I select for example a farm and click the arrow it cycles through ALL buildings and not just the farms.

There are 3 groups, cities, ports and towns, I use this method too, you can check really fast all your possessions this way.
