A quick question regarding conquered 'special' cities

I just want to know, for example, if the Roman faction conquered Sparta/Corinth lets say, would the Romans then be able to recruit the Spartan/Corinthian hoplite units from that city?

Just a thought when deciding who to start a campaign with!

No, the only faction that can recruit Spartan and Corinthian hoplites is the Greek Cities if I recall.

Usually any elite unit is restricted to that faction.
