Default New nVidia drivers out! (182.50)

So today they released new drivers! Gonna try em later to see if they fix anything (probably not ).

    Anyway, here's the link: Vista 64bit - http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winvi...0_whql_uk.html

Post in the thread if you have any success regarding your technical problems.

    /edit / update

Been running with these drivers now since they got out (on a 8800gts 512mb). So fare no problems and a slight improvement overall.

No SLI support for this driver. Much more interestingly, the 185.65 Beta driver was released today. The 185 series is developed by a seperate porgramming team, and allows for driver level Ambient Occlusion. But although the early 185.20 did allow for SLI with Empire, this version sadly does not.
So anyone wanting to go SLI still has to use 181.22 as this seems to be the only stable driver offering this support. Very annoying indeed. CA really must have pissed Nvidia off at some point...

Unfortunly SLI doesn't seems to work properly with this driver neither.

    I got two 8800GT and a Q6600 @ 2.80 GHz

By Sli I take it you mean dual card setups...not dual GPUs on the one card like my GTX295.

On the driver side it makes no difference, wether your GPUs communicate with each other via an SLI bridge between two PCBs, or an internal connector like those of the GTX295. If SLI doesn't work, only one of your GPUs will be working.

So except for 181.22 and 185.20 there is no SLI for Empire, not even with a GTX295.

Had a +5000 battle and ran better than last drivers. One of my sea battles froze though.

I tried the 182.50 drivers in my system (2 GTX280s in SLI) and the game simply locks up on the campaign map.

These new drivers had no effect on campaign map's turning black bug.

This did the trick for me, now I can actually play through a battle with no CTD/BSOD!
