    Default AOR Recruitment

Sorry to badger you guys with yet more questions, but I was adding Ferre's latest models and textures to my XGM install and was wondering how to add new AOR units (ie units that can only be recruited in certain areas, as auxiliaries).

XGM makes great use of them, and Ferre's new pack has a ton of auxiliary region based units, but I realized I didn't know how to make them AOR.

In XGM, all AoR units are tied to certain hidden resources, a list of which can be found at the top of EDB. If you want to add a unit to an existing AoR, you must simply add that unit's entry with the appropriate hidden resource as a requirement.

If you want to make an entirely new AoR, you must add a new hidden resource at the top of EDB, add it to the appropriate regions in decr_regions, and then add your units with the new hidden resource as a requirement.

Expand your borders, a mod based on XGM 5.

Ah, thanks much Caesarvincens. I found the file, and those modifications should be quick to make.

RTW has got to be the best game out there for minor customizations like this. So easy to use.

The Sardinians got along reasonably well the Carthaginians, but they were notoriously hostile towards the Romans. So having them work for the Romans would be historically inaccurate. Besides, the Romans are not missing out on much. The Nuragic units are quite similar to Roman units.

yeah, but i like their helmets
But now you mention it, I do recall having read somewhere, that the Romans eventually send huge amounts of wardogs in the forests of the highlands to get the rebels.

Fire, deforestation and wardogs are what won Sardinia for the romans.
Even then, it took them until early empire to subdue the interior regions as tribes from Barbagia never really surrendered.

Sardinia was a mini iberia for the romans, it should be made harder to subdue imho.

Those Nuragics are pretty good. Nice attention to detail there DBH.

Could add some sort of massive unrest penalty.

it should be only for the romans or the carthaginans would need a counter to that one as they were quite in friendly terms with the nuragics...
