reinstalled and can't get past splash screen

Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had a lot of issues with insufficient memory crashes which were minimised by a workaround. Unfortunately the latest patch made them flare up again so I decided to reinstall as I also had a number of mods installed.

Since reinstall I can't get past splash screen without an empire is no longer working ctd

What is going on??????????????

Hmmm, lot of that going on lately.

Basically, you need to delete your AppData 'Empire' folder. It holds all your saved games, preference settings and other stuff. Apparently something is getting corrupted or at the very least conflicted with all these patches.

I suggest doing a complete scrub of anything 'Empire' from your PC. Including what's left over in SteamApps/common. Manually delete that stuff. And then manually delete the 'Empire' folder in the AppData folder. It's AppData/Roaming/The Creative Assembly/Empire.

You'll lose any saved games but it'll get your game working again.
