Empire TW: Gone for ever

I was happily playing Empire TW special forces edition, getting some mods and mod manager and things were great. Then a few hours ago i downloaded : proper Empire. I started it and put it on with my other mods and it made no difference, I tried again this time on its own and i got an error. Then i deleted the mod and Empire stopped working all together. I reinstalled empire (not uninstalled) and it still didnt work. I ve unistalled it now and steam says its to busy to be assed letting me install empire again!

What the hell have i done!

Once you have Empire reinstalled from Steam, let me know.

I'd also like to point out that bugs of this nature are not caused by APE's mod files. Of the 600+ downloads of the mod to date, this is only the second time I have heard of an issue like this, and not the first time I have heard of an issue like this while NOT using APE.
