    Default Land Pirates

Playing as Prussia, I got to around turn 130 with absolutly no issues. I had finally dealt with Poland and Austria and just finished gearing up for war with France, when all of a sudden I ended my turn, only to have the rotation get to pirates... then something odd.... happens.

A land based pirate army (not barbary states, the caribbean pirates) come from central Russia, to attack Kiev (and always manage to take it) which then crashes the game). Being my ally Ive tried sending some troops to kiev to intercept them, but they seem to just get completly ignored and roll on through to kiev (I dont even get to act as reinforcements in the fight).

I would simply reload and stand full armies around the city, but my closest save is around 30 turns beforehand.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What happens when a state gets very bad unrest is workers go on strike. If the issues are not resolved they damage buildings. I presume if the population are unhappy then rebel stacks appear. Sometimes these can be existing factions (I was playing as Sweden and had finally offered a peace deal with Russia (they attacked me) and soon after I had some Russian rebels appear - but fighting them didn't trigger a war with Russia) but other times they appear under a 'black flag'. So the appearance isn't that strange.

However, I've never seen these take a settlement - not that is any help to you. How close are the rebels to you when they attack the settlement? Usually if any army is anywhere near a battle it is drawn in as reinforcements. It does sound weird.

Ah the rebels thing makes it make a bit more sense.

In terms of my army, it is litterally RIGHT beside Kiev, and it wont let them act. Im unsure if this has something to do with the fact that I moved them to that spot in the same turn or not.

I don't think it should matter if your army has no movement left - if they are in the area they should be involved in the battle. Well, at least that is what I'd expect.

I've had units that are a decent amount away and are still drawn into battle.

When you click on an army near Kiev does it has a light green surround that covers Kiev? I think when you select an army there is an inner light green circle and and larger dark green circle further away.

Can you compare the green bits for the army near Kiev compared to one that has not moved?

I know what you mean, and yes the yellow (guess thats what I see it as ) intercept range still covers Kiev, and of course Im allied with Sweden meaning I should act as reinforcments to any engagment they take part in.
