Default How to record a film clip?

Is there any way to save a video of a battle from a campaign game? Or can you only use movie_cam on custom battles?

run Fraps before starting Rome. Then use the shortcut button ( default is I believe F9 or F10) and start recording video. Same button is to stop the recording.

    EDIT: 0.o A separate thread!

This is what ya need FRAPS

Or if you pay the one-off license fee - I did so about three years ago. It's then possible to record as much as your hard drive can take....

It stops recording at 4gb, and starts a new file, again upto 4gb.

Haha, hmm. I could do that but my machine loses its sound and occassionally crashes when im on Roma Surrectum NORMALLY, due the pc's technical inefficiency.
Running any major programmes/applications in the background makes it freeze/crash/lose sound in approximately 5 mins... Enough time to load a campaign lol
    But cheers anyway

    ps: Apple, were you cherryfunk?

FRAPS doesn't take any of the system resources, I believe. It does slow down the game for a moment or two if you are really deeply zoomed in on the action, especially at the moment you activate and deactivate the FRAPS recording.

Gamecam is the best one I tested, and it doesn't drop your framerate to 5 fps like fraps does.

I once left the "record" button on for Fraps and forgot about it... I recorded videos for half the games I own without even knowing it. And I filled up my hard drive until all my apps started to crash and I couldnt figure out why...
    lol.
