    Default Artillery Limbering Fix

Hey all, sorry if this has already been mentioned or posted, (I'm a bit new although not new to the TW series), but I couldn't find it using the search function.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that annoying bug where you try and limber your arty only for it to unlimber itself and continue firing at the enemy. I need to test this a bit more as I've only used this solution once but I believe the bug only happens when any enemy is in range of your artillery. If the enemy are some distance away turn off fire at will and switch to cannister shot, (which has the much shorter range), and you should be able to limber the artillery successfully. I'm not sure if this works if the enemy is in range of cannister shot but then I'm not sure if you'd want to move your guns at that point anyway.

Anyway, sorry if this is already common knowledge.

Very annoying bug, get it all the time. Tell them to retreat for a sec then cancel the order, sometimes that fixes it. Similar bug to this is when you tell your artillery to move at fast pace, the line will tilt in an unwanted direction. Also I get a bug where I cant tell my cannons to stop firing.

I've also had a bug where I have selected an artillery unit but it has actually selected an enemy unit on the main screen! I can't do anything with them though. Have also had issues with men being left behind when moving puckle guns or the game just crashing if I order groups of artillery to fire on a target when one artillery unit have had their guns destroyed and can only fight in melee mode. It's a shame that artillery experience the most bugs as I think they are the most interesting units in the game.

True bug and anoying as hell. With howitzers one can still manage it since they fire over your troops, but guns just wont listen to your orders.

Since there is no way to stop a gun from firing unless you took the "fire at will" choice out AND have the last flesh target leave the firing area of your gun, you need to tell them to limber up to archive a real firing stop. Problem, as said above, is that many times your artillery will start limbering up only to choose to do their own thing and start firing again. This can be catastrophical as you have moved on to a different area of the battle only to miss how your guns are tearing into the back of your advancing troops.

    Very anoying

what i found out is that if you unlimber, always cancel fire at will right after pressing unlimber. and before limber cancel all orders especially fire orders! works for me

I usually order my artillery to fire at some random place far away from my army until the bug fixes itself. Normally, I am able to use them a few minutes later like nothing had happened.

I've found if you don't use fire at will the bug is avoidable most of the time. Also, commanding each artillary unit to limber individually seems to help.

Artillery seems to be very bugged imo ..
Anyone experiencing their artillery refusing to fire at enemy troops within their firing range ? (demi-cannons)

NOt to mention horses falling down too easily and the letality of the first shot while realistically it was the opposite as crew had first to figure out the right angle of the muzzle.

Hope artillary will be patched soon as in MP is quite useless.

Don't use the limber buttom to limber artillery - use WITHDRAW instead. The artillery will start to limber while showing the "withdraw" white flag, but once the have relimbered they will just stop...(the white flag will disappear) They are then ready to be moved elsewhere.Works as charm.

I haven't had any problems since I quit using the limber/unlimber buttom.
