    Default My ship's stuck!

    I've got a full-stack fleet that just sailed from the Atlantic to the East Indies.

    After their arrival, half of the ship model was "stuck" inside a fleet from Georgia.

    I can't move that fleet anymore, as it gives me the "Sir, ships can't sail on land!" comment every time I tell it to move.

    What can I do now?

    I have the same problem with my fleet on the ivory coast.

    Would say to tryn merge a ship with it...but if its a full stack then no luck there. I had a bugged ship causing constant CTD's upon selection that I merged another fleet with and it stopped buggin.

    You might still be able to merge them out of thier current location. Sail a single ship upto them, and do the merge thing, transfer to bugged ships into the newly arrived fleet. If you do this properly you shouldnt even have to click on the bugged fleet.

    This happens with my trading fleets in the trading spots. I can click on them but cant get them to move. They can be disbanded though.

    Yep, happened to to me as well... either you destroy your own ships or you wait it out.. sometimes the ai will manage to pull/move their ships away from yours and than they are free again to roam the seas.....

    Yeah I get this bug too, ships get stuck inside exit areas and tradespots. When it happens in a tradespot I will loose tradeline then. AI get its fleets stuck too. Lots of issues can be explained by something else, but this really smells like bad programming and lack of debugging.

    I read a workaround in a topic a few days ago (possibly a trade discussion) but I can't recall which one, so rather than link I'll just give the solution here.

    It seems like a fleet on a trade node gets bugged if you unmerge a ship from that fleet and move it away. The remaining fleet can still be selected, but cannot be moved (your cursor is a perma-X) cannot be merged, and no longer trades. Once this happens, there is no solution other than:
    a) an enemy attacking your fleet and dislodging it
    b) scuttling the ships

    The way to prevent this is to move your fleets OFF the trade node before un-merging ships from it. To be extra safe, I now also move fleets off for merging too, and then just move them back onto the node immediately. Works fine until they patch this bug.
