    Default V for Vendetta

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! [He slashes a large V through a propaganda poster.] The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. [giggles] Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me "V".

Have you senn the movie? what are your opinions?
I think it's great and epic. inspiring and well written. and I like the Guy Fawkes mask.

Some parts were rather silly and Natalie Portman was annoying, but it is a good movie. Mostly because of Hugo Weaving.

I didn't particularly care for it. It's political message was annoyingly obvious and pervasive and pretty much ruined the movie for me. I watch movies for entertainment, not to spend two hours listening to some directors political views.

Evey was just a whiny mess andI couldn't take that "purification" scene in the rain seriously. As I understand it V had a similar experience in the flames when he escaped from the medical facility, that was a lot cooler.

The movie is nothing compared to the comic graphic novel. Although it does have its moments.

"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

A loved that movie, good acting (although Natalie portman was a bit mediocre), and some political messages that can trigger some thinking.

And I should not forget the large number of awesome quotes

It was enjoyable. I would hardly consider it great art and most of its rabid fans couldn't get much more annoying.

It needed more fight scenes. The one at the end was glorious, but it could have used several more.
But it did have girls kissing, so +rep for that.

I did not like it, the original graphic novel was about totalitarianism vs anarchism and presented a not so black and white view of the two sides, its kinda up to the reader to decide who the good guys are. In the movie its more like the good and tolerant leftwing resitance against the evil rightwing populist goverment. It kinda tries to make the conflict more about contemporary politics where the Norsefire party are George Bush's neo-cons and the anarchists are the democrats. They should have kept the topic of islamophobia totally out in my opinion, or even better have made the evil totalitarians the ones who constantly forced ideas of multi-culturalism down on the citizens. That would have been a lot more original instead of these overused sterotypes. All that being said V was a pretty cool character.

I liked it. I've read the graphic novel, and it's even more amazing.
But the thing that a lot of people don't get, especially Alan "Whiney btch" Moore, is that the film was not supposed to be a scene-for-scene adaptation of the comic. It was supposed to be adapting the comic to a modern understanding of things, because the original story of the comic would be COMPLETELY lost on modern audiences; the original plot was highly involved in British politics of the 80's and the whole dangers-of-immanent-nuclear-annihilation-thing that Moore has in, like, every comic he makes.

So, with that in mind, V for Vendetta was a very good movie and a decent adaptation.
