    Default Paleolithic Wars





    This mod started a few months ago as a Portuguese Only project.
    It would be a fantasy-realistic based on the Stone Age (and aproximate time frame)


    It was supposed to be a mini-mod wich would add the following features:


    3 factions:

    - Broknagars
    - Mungus
    - Naisans


    New Map done by Boicote (who created 1143) based on the layout of Iceland


    Complete new set of buildings and ancillaries and Quotes


    Capital's feature:

    the models for the ordinary towns will be only villages but you'll have all buildings available (though some require others to be already constructed to be available), it will work like the apaches in the America's

    only the capitals (3 in the game) will have wooden fences around it, and some special buildings

    the capitals will be something like a stronghold


    4 units: (all factions have the same roster, though the stats will be different)

    -Clubmen
    -Rock Thrower
    -Spearmen
    -Archer

    Buildings:

    Medicinemans tent.
    Effect: + population growth

    Decorated Cave:
    A cave decorated with the finest of the stone age's Contemporary art!
    effect: + happines

    Animal traps:
    Traps build in the terrain. wild animals are chaised trought the area with traps and hopefully some will fall into them.

    Traits:

    Swinger of the club.
    This tribal warrior is known for using his club to end any sort of arguments.
    effect: + 2 dread(barbarism? )

    Mammoth slayer.
    He has gained the respect of his fellow tribesmen with slaying a fearsome mammoth.
    Effect: + Happines

    Leader of the Hunt.
    The undsiputed leader of the hunt.
    effect: +2 autorithy

    Pathfinder.
    skilled in finding the easiest ways trough ruff terrain.
    effect: +10% movement on stratmap

    we've a little set of buildings (out of my mind):

    -Shaman's Tent (shaman will be the tribe (=faction) leader, though the name ''Shaman'' may be changed)

    -Hunter's Tent (missile units)

    -Warband's Hut (melee)

    -Barn (food storage wich increases population and health)

    -Fields (farms)

    -Bushes Plantation (another food production)

    Well being an archaeology student (with an interest in the mesolithic, but still):

    I suggest these "houses" (change the names to whatever you like):
    • Big Tent (kinda like the town center, the main tent of the settlement)
    • Fireplace (the actually "town center" something that gives plus stats to population and happiness)
    • Shaman's Tent (happiness bonus)
    • Hunting Grounds (unit production and food bonus)
    • Huts (just a couple of more, giving population bonus)


    (btw, since this is the Paleolithic you cannot have farms and such )
    (but on that note wars are unrealistic in the Palaeolithic are unrealistic so you might as well permit yourself some liberties)

    For units I suggest:
    • Spear Throwers
    • Fighters (only real melee unit)
    • Archers
    • Rock Throwers
    • Boomerang Throwers

    (btw, since this is the Paleolithic you cannot have farms and such )
    i wrote this in the main post:

    meaning that farms and such would be one of the latest buildings be be available (maybe after some event like ''agriculture invented'')



    before farms are allowed, you'll have bush plantations (food gathering) and maybe some fishing nets

    (but on that note wars are unrealistic in the Palaeolithic are unrealistic so you might as well permit yourself some liberties)
    this is a fun based mod, so we're allowing ourselfs some unrealistic (though somehow historical) 'fantasies'







    For units I suggest:
    • Spear Throwers
    • Fighters (only real melee unit)
    • Archers
    • Rock Throwers
    • Boomerang Throwers
    it's exactly the same exept for the boomerang throwers


    but it would require lots of animations and hard work

    so i must cross it down

    Surely a boomerang thrower could just use the javelin animaiton set? Just make a new missile.

    boomerangs are supposed to hit, and come back in a circular trajectory

    it's would be stupid if they go like javelins


    Now you guys have to make kangaroos and boomerangs. seriously
    again, no boomerangs or animals (specially kangoroos for god sake)


    boomerangs were mostly used in Austraulia

    and this mod focus on Eurasia

    (Naisans will look like asians, Broknagars will be european (neanderthals probably) and Mungus will be black people)


    the map will be a island (iceland) for gameplay issues

    We want to portrait in this mod a very primitive human, were their weapons were very rawand basic, lets call it a dawn of war.

    we are keeping that small list for the moment, as this is and will be a mini-mod

    in the future who knows, we might upgrade it, but for the time being we are staying to what we previously decided, so no boomerang thrower.

    The problem with the map (even though its a good idea) is that it brings a small resemblence with the already used in med2.

    we want something entirely new, thus iceland,

    btw i dont know if this was mentioned already but the map will have around 40 settlements

    the europe map is great, but there's only 3 factions...


    iceland map is better, becouse we can resize it (make various tries) to make it perfect for only 3 factions

    Collector of bones.
    This promitive bloke has the grim habbit of collection the bones of his defeated oponents.
    Effect: +2 dread

    "Artits"
    Hi prefers to paint his cave rather than bashing heads.
    Effects: -2 authority + happines
