Default "Did not honor alliances" penalty bug?

If you're allied with several nations and one of your allies declares war on another, you'll have to choose between either breaking the alliance with the aggressor or the defender. I sided with the defender and got a -15 "did not honor alliances" diplomacy penalty. Even my defending ally got pissed at me for it

It would be nice if it worked like this:

Faction A is allied with factions B and C.

If faction B and C go to war (doesn't matter who declares war) all factions are divided into two groups, B-friends and C-friends, according to who they are most friendly towards (alliances and trade agreements should also factor in strongly).

If faction A sides with faction B then faction A gets a "Honored alliance" bonus with the B-friends factions and a "Did not honor alliance" penalty with the C-friends factions. Vice-versa if faction A sides with faction C.

Additionally, it should incur a public order penalty if faction A sides with the faction that the public opinion likes the least (the more difference in public view on the two factions, the bigger the penalty). A public order bonus if the public's favourite faction is chosen is reasonable as well.

Would make the whole alliance aspect much more important and dynamic than it is now.
