    Icon9 Pyromaniac

In my current Iberian campaign 3 of my best familymembers got the Pyromaniac trait (+3 unrest, -3 law, -10% trade, -1 troop morale -1 farming output)
Is this just bad luck or are there other factors (like certain temples) involved wich determine this crappy trait?

I just started this campaign and i would like to have some familymembers wich can be used as governor.

I'm not too good at this stuff, and therefore can't tell you exactly where to look, but I'm sure there's something in the game files that lists the traits and what induces them.

I've never noticed the trait, but I don't build those temples because I'm a pyro, I build them because I'm a warmonger! Seems an unfair label.

I don't think it unfair. "Fire" traits have 3 level and first 2 is the good ones while the third one is insane. If character have sane traits would prevent them from get obsess with fire.

A more general question: what do you guys do with family members that are just really bad governors (people with bad traits except the extortionists)? How do I prevent insane people to get even more insane (like people who have the 'anger'-trait gaining the 'beating slaves to death'-trait)? I can't possibly make good use of them as generals...

Some of my maniac familymembers eventualy got good battle traits, so i use them as field generals. The real bad ones, i assigned to the armies of my factionleader and heir. When i capture a city they can govern for a few turns, while i send the maniac with some soldiers to take out small stacks. That way they gain some battle taits.

Using them as heavy cavalry in a better generals stack is what I do.
