Crashes during battle

After losing several major battles because of crashes, I decided to join the club and post about it.

Basically, at any time during a battle, the screen suddenly turns white, and then I get a crash.

Before anyone asks, no; it is not my system that is the problem.

It's still happening, and it seems to be random. Some battles go fine, but now in this one battle I'm trying to fight, it constantly crashes, every single time I have tried it has crashed. The screen goes white, CTD. I've restarted the battle !10! times, and every time it has crashed at one point in the fight. I'm trying to take the last Cherokee city, and I can't because the game just won't let me finish the fight without crashing.

I'd really love some advice.

I have a similar issue, I am playing as the Dutch and have just sacked Madrid, naturally, the spanish want it back, but when I try to defend the city (large battle) it crashes at some point in the battle all the time. Sometimes it crashes right away, other times about half way through the battle (usually when I am winning) Its very frustrating as if I autoresolve the battle I lose because my army is beaten up. (But I can win by funneling them into a kill zone)
