Game crashes after quitting to windows

I apologise if this has been posted before, but i couldn't find anything on this amongst all the other crash issues...

Everytime I quit ETW the game crashes, ie Vista gives me a dialog box that "this program is no longer working"

Ok, so big deal, the game crashes after I've quit anyway... but as a result, any changes made to the game preferences aren't saved, which is highly annoying.
I've had this problem since the second patch.

I've now deleted all game content and redownloaded the game, and also deleted the creative assembly folder in the app data raoming directory... yet still the same problem.
To make things worse the game now won't generate a preferences file that I can change manually. The scripts folder is empty.
Any ideas on this one?

i got the same thing as you but nothing is deleated for me so sorry. cant help

I have had the same issue since a reinstall. There is no preferences.txt file saved to the folder where it was before(I'm on WinXP)

I have set the folder properties so there shouldn't be a problem with 'Read-Only' settings etc., but still no preferences are saved. Maybe this is the reason for the 'quitting' crash?

I't s bit annoying to always have to reset my preferences in the menu before playing.
