Anybody here watched it?
I enjoy how it paint a brutally honest picture of the war without attempt to glamorise or demonise what goes on.
Any thoughts?

Yeah I watched it a couple of months ago. In my humble opinion the way it portrays the Iraq war and the USMC is pretty much how I imagine it myself. As you said yourself it gives a pretty neutral viewpoint, the soldiers are not portrayed as the typical american overly patriotic heroes and neither as ice cold kiling machines, they are merely professionals doing their jobs. Perhaps the the realistic image of the war was also why I thought it became a bit boring though, had a hard time really remebering the different characters for example. The battle scenes were good though.
Would like a comment from a member of the US armed forces (I know there are some on this forum) on how realistic it is.
If you liked Generation Kill you should try 'Over There'. Same thing just, in my opinion, a bit better.
A very sober approach to a rather touchy subject. Personally I liked it, especially the casting was good imo.
It does tend to get somewhat longwinded though.
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...
