Icon9 Runs great! After 5 minutes.. Help!

Hey all, recently purchased ETW and the installation went fine with no problems and finally I get to play this new game in the TW series.

Originally I had all the settings on auto which pretty much put everything on Ultra, I played for at least 5 minutes and the game just ran terribly slow, constant stutter every move I made on the campaign map (and battle map).

After this I put the settings all on low, started the game and it ran smooth..after a few minutes and it went back to being a sluggish little ****! I get a huge FPS drop from 40 to 5. I have no idea what it could be, my laptop specs seem okay to me but I like to know what you think:

    Alienware M9750
    Windows XP PRO SP2
    Intel Core 2 CPU T7600 2.33GHz
    2GB RAM DDR2
2x NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX 512MB SLi Enabled (Driver: 179.48)

Any idea's what it could be? MTW2 ran great on this, even with ETW settings on low I'd think it'd run smooth too. Thanks.

Disable SLI and give it a try, maybe?

Your processor is under par, and this game is very CPU intensive.

Really? I would of thought it was the gfx. But even on the lowest settings.. surely is shouldn't be as bad?

Just tried it, no luck. Was actually worse. Really puzzled to what it could be! Any chance of it being a heating problem, I know that my tempratures are well over 60...
