A little help with speed?

I bought Empire a few days after it came out.....only to be a little disappointed....For starters I ran the demo quite well with no real problems.

When I finnaly got around to buying the game I was confronted by long load times and lag during battles.....Now don't get me wrong, I have over 50 hrs of playtime...its just that it goes a long with a lot of waiting between battles.

Here are my specs.

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Hard Drive: 250 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT

To be honest, your pc might be lacking horsepower. Get some more ram, as a start.

I was looking at that....I'm thinking of replacing my ram and getting 2 GB.

But would that solve the problem?

also I have the same GPU as you and I can tell ya' it struggles with ETW. I see nothing but issues with this card. it is just not a good gaming card.

I find it overheats alot when I play and I run it with the auto detected.

I have tried many drivers I finally got the 181.22 and now it runs but it sure struggles just to render the game. hopefully the UPS guy will get here today with my new ATI 4870 HD 1 gig. I am hoping with the new card I can atleast run the game smoothly.

Not sure what issues you may be having with the 9500 but I find it worse then my old 8600 GT

My OS is Windows XP 32bit.

I just got my video card a few months back, I had a 7600 GS.

I upgraded my RAM recently and I am very happy with the result. I didn't make a massive difference in frame rates, but I am now able to run the game on slightly higher settings and everything feels smoother and faster now. So I can definitely recommend more RAM, maybe add another 2 gigs of RAM.
