    Default immobile generals

One of the posts in another thread mentioned 'immobile generals.' I have a general that I bribed from the indie greeks that can barely move, but I had thought that it was some horribly random bug. I eventually was able to get him to a city where he can at least be a governor.

What's the point of immobile family members?

Some of the Indie Greek ones start as immobile so they perform only defensively, like most of the city states would have..

Yeah, and apparently it goes away after a few turns anyway.

I wouldn't bribe any more generals from the independent Greeks though.

How are created these immobile governors? they are standard generals/family members with special traits?

Yes, they have a special trait which reduces their movement. Usually the aim is to get them and their garrison to stay in one place for a while. Without that trait any garrison larger than three units will wander off.

I saw a funny thing today. I was playing as GCS and had a general sailing around the Mediterranean picking up a few exotic mercs from Africa. So, at IG's north African settlement there was a full stack. General and a full 19 other units. Not many turns later one of my traveling salesmen diplomats walked by the city and the garrison contained one unit. Its almost as if they were content to hide in the city but when I discovered them they decided they should move and hide somewhere else. Several turns later and I still don't know exactly what they are up to.
