Please Help! Cannot get Darthmod 0,3 to work

I really want to play the Darthmod but have been unable to get it working. I have tried multiple times and spent hours reading forums.

I run vista 32-bit

For what i can tell i have followed the installation steps...
1. Download the file linked in the first post
2. Unzip the file using a program such as WinRar
3. Copy the subfolders into the location described in the name of the two main folders
4. If you downloaded DarthMod 0.1, replace the patch.pack file with the unmodded original.

I am positive i did step 1 right after that i am no longer confident.
when it says "unzip" is that the same as extract? I have WinRar and i can find nothing that says unzip only extract. Thus i extracted user.empire_script to c\:users\(my name)\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts. The folder appears above the preferences.empire_script.
Next i extracted the darthmod.pack into C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data. The folder appears in the data list.
I did not download DarthMod 0,1 but did download 0,2 but could not get that to work either so i deleted it. I deleted my patch pack file to see if steam would update...it didn't and the game wouldn't work so i put it back.

I have modded my game with the battlefield smoke v2.9, sound and blod mod with no problem.
why isnt Dathmod working? please help this noop!

just so ya know you might have more luck if you Post Mod related questions in the MOD sections. As for your Question. from what little bit I have read about it from what I can tell you have to have a completely clean install of ETW to get it to work. but I myself have not tried it.

did you copy the included script file that comes with the mod. And put it in your (for vista) c:\user\username\appdata\the creative assembly\scripts

@Groove-thanks for the advice but the reason i did not post this in the mod section is because the Darthmod page has become a monster (as one poster committed). I forgot to add in my post that i did "delete local content" via steam but realized there were still game files on my computer, I did not not know the best ways to get rid of those so i just reinstalled empire. Still i could not get the mod to work.

@Spaxspore thanks for the response but i have put the script file in that folder. To my knowledge i have followed the directions time and again yet no dice

Thank god i got it to work...i am such a noob. for those other noobs out there this is how i got it working:
I extracted the Darthmod 0.3 folder to my desktop using WinRar
i then went through the files until i got to the actual pack file and copied it to the location the subfiles tells you to in the data folder.
I did the same thing to the script file copying it into its respective location and wallah it worked!
in my infinite wisdom i thought extracting was the same as copying
so i just extracted the files to there respected files, oh well live and learn. Now i get to experience what you all been talking about!
