Default [FAILED 04/07/09] [Citizen] Rebel6666 (Patron: Guy)

    Proposal [Guy]

Dear members of the CdeC. I would like to propose the member Rebel6666 as candidate for ascension to the rank of citizen.

    Rebel joined TWC in early Feburary of 2007; He has never recieved a warning and was last approached just over a month ago. He is well known across TWC, especially with his contributions to RPG's and in general, helping members of TWC. One of the main reasons I chose him was because of his amazing contribution which helped me complete around 3 days worth of Wiki work on one of our projects. Some of the pages he contributed to can be found here;

He has been a Local Moderator now for many months and does very well at his job. Maybe he is a potential moderator, but that would be for future terms. I believe he has the quality to become a Citizen and has earned this through his contributions over the years.

    Candidate's Paragraph [Rebel6666]
    Hi TWC members,

Yes I would like to become a Citizen. First of all I will present myself; I have been a good TWC member for two years now. I was born in Canada, in the Québec province; I’m bilingual in French and English. I’m thirty-one years old, have two kids and a wife. I’ve been playing TW games since Rome came out up till now.

The reason why I want to become a Citizen, I would like to contribute more to the forum, I think this forum is great, fun and very helpful with games but also in a lot of other aspects like personnel help, the TWC University, the Wiki, Scriptorium and more….

    Now I need to show you what I did for TWC, or I should say for its members. In the two years I’ve been here, I have helped a lot of people / members with all of the in game aspects of RTW and even more with M2TW. I have help members on multiple ways like;

Welcoming new members on the TWC, by letting them know via visitor’s messages that if they need anything or have any questions, they could PM me I would be glad to help.

I’m helping a RPG multiplayer game as in KINGMAKER being a Local Moderator and keeping that part of the forum dust free for the past 6 months.

    I have also helped members start their AAR’s. Here are two examples;

    1- http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=207072

    2- http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=200714

I have helped a lot of members with questions regarding anything that was within the game, game play, tactics and more…. This is what I have been doing for two years now. Here in The M2TW Discussions forum
is where I have spent and still spending a lot of time helping other members.

I’m also an active member of the PS3 and Silver Aux. social groups. I have also helped members in the Personnel help part of this forum and I’m always opened to help anyone that needs help and if I can’t help them I will find someone that can.

I have also supported Guy a member here that is well known, on one of his projects for the Wiki part of this forum. I would like to give you the link to the work I’ve done for him but because I’m not Wiki Staff I don’t have access, you could ask him.

Regarding helping others I have made a couple of guides which turned out to be very much appreciated by new members but also by old timers and veteran players of Total War games. I have worked a lot of hours on theses guides, which I must say that I’m very happy of. All of my guides were appreciated enough by everyone that someone from Senior Staff as suggested to me to put them all in one thread.

This being said here is the link to my guide thread Great M2TW Informative Thread. This work of mine is probably what you would take into more account; this guide as also been added in the Scriptorium by Power Wizard. I have also added guides form other members to make it a really greater thread.

I have created a My Personal Help Thread which ain't that much active bit I can assure you that I have received alot of PM's from members that requested my help. I would say their names but I respect " Le secret Professionnel" like we say in French

Finally, I would like to say thanks to all of you for taking the time, as we all know time is important to read and look the work I’ve done.

Here is some other links where I gaved my help:

    Vassals this is my specialty

Another vassals this is my specialty

    trouble with Iams

    Rebels question

    Princesses

Believe me there is more if you want more let me know

Here are the members who supports me in this and that also knows me, and knowledgeable of what I have done in TWC, I would suggest you PM them to verify:

    Hunter Makoy

    Armatus

    Nakharar

    Viking Prince

    Romanos IV

    Exarch

    Abel12512

    Mega Tortas

    Pink Beard

There is also more of them if you want me to give you more just let me know.

    Last attempt.

Isn't the guy who wigged out after someone said he wasn't quite ready for citizenship and wouldn't patronize him? I just thought that whole ordeal was funny. I'll check out his credentials.

I've seen a few of his posts in the Q&S. Not all were top quality. But he seems enthusiastic. I'll do some research.

Rebel is actually a good guy. Has he contributed enough for citizenship? I'm not sure. Will have to do some research.

Aye, it seems a bit immature, and man I'm half his age. And that RPG Kingmaker seems to be another one of RPG's that died soon after starting, unless it's being temporarily kept in the Necropolis for another reason. They certainly didn't get past turn 1 by the looks of things, so I wouldn't count local moderation as a contribution there. The 'helping start AAR's' seems to be nothing, save some posts with one or two lines of encouragement. I mean, just compare it to what Wiz and others posted in those threads. That is definately not a contribution. He's made a thread in the Personal Help and Advice section, and generally posts a bit in the MTW2 General discussion forum.

I haven't checked out his guides yet, but so far I think it's a no from me.

I'd say this is his only contribution. Some of his guides are good, although I feel he needs to write few more before this is a sufficient contribution for Citizenship. It's a no from me.

He does help a lot of members with a lot of game and forum related things. He's overall a very helpful guy. Hmmm....but I do concede he is a bit light on the physical contribution.

I don't think this was linked to. His failed vote from a month ago:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=225113

Oh and Rome you want to link to the profiles of the patron and client in your legend tags, so it's easy to navigate.

It doesn't look to me like a lot has happened since his last patronization. The Help thread, added some guides from other people to his compilation thread. I stand by my earlier assessments of most of the contributions stated.

The guide is the main thing, and it merits a good bit of rep which I'm sure he has received by now, but not Citizenship in and of itself. So it comes down to attitude really since he isn't that active in the CdeC. On the good side, I don't think we had any outbursts last time his application failed, as opposed to two times ago. I'll give it some more thought, leaning towards a no right now, but willing to give him plenty consideration for good attitude if he doesn't outburst again next time, assuming I do decide to vote that way this time.

He has "contributed" enough in my opinion, but I will say no as I strongly dislike his attitude, specifically towards citizenship.

His ambition to become a citizen is rather unfitting in my opinion.

Before starting I would like to present myself to thoses who don't know me. I'm 31 years old and a memebr for .... and for thoses who knows me I'am often trying to help onther members with the gane (M2TW), by creating a Guide on various aspects, I have also counselled 2 starting members with theior AAR's, I'am Local Mod for the RPG Kingmaker and always answering questions and helpong other members.

I've now been here for quite awhile and lately I tried to become a Citizen. SO I ask Senior Staff ( I won't nem anyone here but they will know ) And written them a PM to let them know that I would like to become a Moderator. Knowing that they are in need for the ETW as the game in coming out soon.

But the thing is that you need to be a Citizen for then to try and become a Junior Mod. All I want to do is help this board the more than I can, as I have always done in my trip here on TWC.

So after my request (with everything I said here in my 2nd paragrah), sent out a Senior Staff sent me another PM saying "we are discussing of you" again no name will be mentioned. So I was like ok maybe it's a good sign.

But Two days later another Senior Staff Pm'd me to say that I wasn't worthy enough to become a Citizen, also saying that I should try modding, Art Staff, content writter, AAR and other specific things to become citizen. SO WHAT THEY ARE TELLING ME IS HELPING 1000 MEMBERS ON THIS FORUMS AIN'T GOOD ENOUGH!!!!

Now when I received that PM I was Pissed-off so I decided to think this out a bit before doing anything I was also thinking of leaving this forum as I felt abandoned, ripped off because I gave Heart and time in my way of helping.

IMO I think that good contributor's shouldn't not be specificly pointed out to only some things that are made in this forum....

I have written this to just let know all of the people that if you want to become a better contributor ( for the Senior Staff eye) and become a Citizne be sure to put your efforts in the specific places that I have written above don't get screwed like I was...

If Mod or Admins wants to Ban me than so be it.

    Thanks Regards

    And believe me I tried

I'll have to admit that his attitude has been acceptable since he was last brought up for citizenship, as he hasn't done anything naughty lately (as far as I can see). But his contributions haven't significantly improved, not to the point of changing my opinion of him.

The AAR's he says he helped with cannot really be considered a contribution, as they were written by other authors, and the amount of "helping" he actually did cannot be verified.

Now, on his "Great Informative Thread", I certainly consider it a contribution, a good one, but it doesn't seem to be enough, also considering the fact that it focuses on specific parts of the game, vassals for example, while leaving out other important parts of the game. It also isn't that well written, as there are plenty of grammatical errors.

He also regularly tries to help people out with their in-game problems, and while that is commendable, and a good contribution, the way he advertises his thread and links to it all the time, even consistently asking for rep in return when he helps someone leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

Now, on his attitude, he has been pursuing citizenship, and in progress, moderatorship, as can be seen by his paragraph, many times, PMing people (including me) asking for patronage. quite persistently. When Senior Staff refused to patronise him, he reacted quite badly, opening a thread to publicly whine. He also exhibited inappropriate behaviour, in the extent that GED had to moderate him, from this post and onwards.

I will repeat what I've told him a thousand times. He should try to limit spamming, work on his attitude a bit, try to join a branch of content staff, or try to write some more, better gaming guides, as he appears to be a good MTW2 player, with a lot of knowledge on the game. But in my opinion, conferring citizenship at this point would be a grave error.

I think if he actually obtained citizenship his attitude would be better and his contributions would go up. I have to count his contributions to the Wiki if Guy is patronizing him. He is a great help to others which is a contribution, his guides are another contribution. People have obtained citizenship on less. The question is his attitude....... I think he is on the right path, i vote yes.

Absolutely not. Everything about him isn't worthy of Citizenship, particularly his anger whenever he fails to become a Citizen and his criticisms of the system because he hasn't.
