    Default Fix for Naval Troop Transportation?

    I found a reference by a newbie poster in another forum for this - which DOES sound rather promising... but nobody followed it up that I can see - it just slipped off the fornt page never to be seen again.

    default RECRUITMENT_NAVY_CATEGORY_BASE_PROPORTIONS_GALLEY 0
    default RECRUITMENT_NAVY_CATEGORY_BASE_PROPORTIONS_INVASION_FLEET 0
    default RECRUITMENT_NAVY_CATEGORY_BASE_PROPORTIONS_LINE_OF_BATTLE 0.5
    default RECRUITMENT_NAVY_CATEGORY_BASE_PROPORTIONS_MERCHANT 0
    default RECRUITMENT_NAVY_CATEGORY_BASE_PROPORTIONS_SPECIALIST 0.1
    this is in the campaign_ai_personality_junctions db from the main.pack

    Default setting for all factions is zero - which seems to suggest that the AI default behaviour for recruiting ships designated to carry troops is Zero.

    This hasnt been altered by the patch.pack (i looked, no changes apparent).

    The total value for the naval recruitment appeats to be 1, so the figures are percentiles one supposes.

    Sadly i dont know how to change these settings and incorporate them into a new .pack...

    any takers out there?

    I wonder how those values work. The value for merchants are set to zero here and yet the AI clearly produces merchant ships. Then it should also produce some ships for an invasion fleet, despite the zero value. But even if it did, something else ought to trigger some troops being ordered to go onboard that invasion fleet, and sail away.

    I've tried adjusting those values and have had no success yet.

    My guess here (just a guess mind you) is that at some point CA was going to include dedicated transport ships into the game. When that was scratched they left the code in but set the value to 0. Considering frigates galleys and SOL's have there own value in that file, I think it's more of a system set up to tell the ai roughly how much of each type of unit they should have at anytime.
