Default The Pony Express or How to Traverse a Theater in One Turn

Has anyone else figured out that since ETW has a really simplistic "movement points" system for ships that you can transport any army as far as you like so long as you have a prepositioned set of ships along a "railroad" of ports?

You move the an army onto a ship, sail it till it's out of movement, dock, offload, load onto another ship with full movement and continue.

Anyone else notice it takes at least a year to go from Europe to America instead of a few months.

Nah it takes a few months

You move into the "transition zone" in the summer, and you arrive in America in the winter.

That's odd, it takes always a "missed turn" to zone between theaters. You leave Summer 1950, en route Winter 1950, arrive Summer 1951.

well it makes sense, more people would be outraged if they transferred immediately than if there wasn't a designated "waiting period" since the ivory coast isn't directly connected to the coast of africa. and since the game's increments are in units of 6 months, that's the smallest designated "waiting period" possible

    It is a game.
A game has to make abstractions.

You are playing this game in TURNS, which happen to be labeled as half-year-long just because it looks nicer. Thats all.

Haven't you noticed that half a year goes by just by a mouse-click and 20 seconds wait?
