Why are there no major mods for MTW2?

For instance there are so many for RTW, RTR, EB, Rise of Persia to name a few good ones, these mods are like new games unto themselves and theyre free which i think is brilliant, but why is there nothing like this for MTW2? no mods extending maps or giving us more factions or a mod starting in the dark age chronicling the rise of Islam or a later one dealing with the 17th century a perfect bridge between MTW2 and ETW?

There are plenty of 'major' mods for M2TW. Look in the Kingdoms Hosted Modifications forum for most of them.

As for why there aren't a lot of mods that greatly change the setting for M2, this can be attributed to more being needed to be done for an M2 mod, and things like the World Extractor still being worked out so the battle map settlements can be changed.

oh right so is it just a matter of time then before something major happens?

can you name any good mods to download? perhaps expanding the map a little, including more factions or changing the skins?

Is ETW easier or harder to mod than MTW2?

Different era/setting mods are being developed, but that's all it is for now, development stage.

also, all the modders have gone on making separate mods for med 2... not uniting for one or several large mods like in rome

Indeed, you need not, Sir!

Stainless Steel is, IMHO, by far the BEST.

BTW, I feel that the correct ref to Med 2 TW is: M2TW and not MTW2.
But, that is another subject ...entirely?
