Can't launch game since Patch today

Hi

Played the game this morning before going to work.
Just come home and installed the new patch and now the game won't even launch!

Any idea's appreciated!!

my game wont' work either. pathetic.

there is a thread about it here, but I don't like the idea of deleting and messing with the folders they are talking about

classic. a mod over there now closed the one thread where people were talking about solutions.

next time these plonkers put out a game I'm waiting six months.

I had the same problem. It went away after I removed all mods and savegames, and used Steam to verify local data. I then launched the game with no problems, exited, put my most recent save game back into my saves folder, relaunched and have been playing since.

I suspect the problem may have been with the mods, though some have had problems with the autosave file.

I have the same problem. I removed the mods, but can;t find the save game. Also how do I verify local data?

Get into on-line mode with steam
Right mouse click the game
Select 'view downloadable content'
Click the menu tab with 'local files'.
There are two options that may be of help 1) verify integrity of game cache and 2) defragment cache files

I god the game delivered today, I installed it (after copying the dvds on my harddrive because some file was currupt I had to change)

Now everytime I try to launch its updating....

I really regret buying ETW already and I will recommend anyone to wait 6 months until version 1.5 out and completely bugfree...
