    Default saving sounds

i know this has probably been asked a thousand times over and i know this is probably not the place to ask but i have tried searching this website and nothing has really worked...

I want to save the sound files for Medieval II Total War, the music and voices etc, so i can listen to them either in real player of windows media player. I am using Vista if that makes a difference.

Is it possible and how do I go about it?

Here is your savior. Unpack into the sound directory and check the readme file.
    IDX Extractor

If you have a look in the batchfile you will see that alll the sound packs are listed. Try them one at a time by making a copy and then deleting all but one.
To edit the batchfile, right click and chose edit.

Oh dear, you are running Vista with the game in the 'program files' folder. That usually causes all sorts of problems when you want to mod (work) with it. Some files are in the virtual folder that is hidden.
If you have some time on your hand, I would strongly suggest to uninstall the game and then re-install it to a folder like c:\games - makes life much easier.
Because by the looks of it either you haven't used the extractor yet or the extracted files all ended up in the virtual store. For more details see the stick thread in this forum:
