Default Who is satisfied with the actions by their Head of State during the current recession?

Note: the term "head of state" is being used loosely here. I realise most kings and queens have little to no influence on the shaping of their countries' economic policies.

It seems that if there's one thing we all have in common, it's blaming our heads of state for doing a job. Now, of course, some may genuinely believe them to be doing a job and others may dislike their heads of state for different reasons entirely. I reckon all of those feelings will be included in the poll when you vote.

Pretty interested in seeing what the outcome will be. Please, when you have voted, state your country and a rough estimate of your position on the political spectrum.

I have approximate answers and possible beliefs, and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I’m not absolutely sure of anything, and many things I don’t know anything about. But I don’t have to know an answer. I don’t feel frightened by not knowing.

dont see a poll, I approve of obama, I think people are just blaming government heads when its corporate interests that are to blame.

The poll is up. You can only make the poll -after- you post the thread, for some reason.

hmm, its difficult to say i guess, around here the thing hasnt really reached the proportions as for example in the US.
However i see the financial aids for banks for example as a necessary evil at this point. if you just let 'em crash and burn they are gonna take down a lot of others with them.
sure, the system as a whole has inertial flaws(constant growth is just impossible) but in the end everybody was happy i guess. banks were happy because they made a huge profit and consumers were happy cause those banks gave them credits regardless of their securities and financial situation.

so i guess you could say i see the measures taken as something thats necessary to avoid a total collaps but not something i really approve of.

Well yeah in most western monarchies, kings/queens don't have a lot to say about anything. The same is true here. But I use the term head of state rather loosely here.

oh you must be under the mistaken impression that the economy ever relied on anything but the imagination of its participants.

Well, it does in the sense that we're facing (according to the politicians), extremely tough economic times. So if that were really true, then isn't it automatically so that -any- prime minister/president would do a less than excellent job? I mean, this is not exactly the sort of stuff -anyone- is experienced in.

And perhaps there is something else at work too. Perhaps the government doesn't necessarily do a crappy job, but rather unfortunate people just want to shove the blame on -someone- for their misfortune. Obviously the government is then first choice.

Oh damn, dude, I'm sorry, I was referring to the other dude in the previous post. But yeah, that's a valid point too. I'm of the opinion that governments nowadays, instead of helping their citizens, are instead keeping them down for their own purposes.
