A New Hope

I just got word from my sources in the Sogdian Uplands that a rider has brought a message. That rider had ridden 14 days straight and had to replace 5 horses which died through exhaustion. The message he brought was sealed with the Royal Crest of the Kingdom of Imperial France. The Rider promptly died after placing it my Grand Vizier's hand.

After burining his horse and eating the rider, my Vizier opened the letter to reveal the news that dave scarface has escaped from the Island of Elba and is marching on ETW. It has been confirmed that he has returned to modding, and is objective is a more balanced and bug-free game, for the good of liberty, egality and fraternity. He is currently swelling the horde which is congragating around Darth Vader, who has already released two updates.

New lieutanants have heard the cry. LtChambers, warmachine and Mech_Donald have taken the flag of Free France and pledged allegiance to bring hope to the people. They will return us to the days before the March on Moscow.

These brave men represent A New Hope. I wish for everyone to take notice and remember the new revolution started with them. TWC will only be as strong as its modders. Spammers and flamers such as I fill the numbers. I will march as a lowly skirmisher behind these men. It is the modders who will bring us freedom, Generals sent by God to show us the path. They give up their free time to offer us a greater vision of what we already have. They offer it without any Paypal or GoogleCheckout sign up requirement.

These are just 5 men who my Vizier has mentioned. I know there are others. I apologise if they were not mentioned here. We already have great modders here, they have already brought many hours of enjoyment to me, and many girlfriends. So thank you sirs too.

For the Modders! For France! For the infinite girlfriends! For Zinidine Zidane! Join them brothers! Drive fear into our enemy's hearts! Vive le France!

I concur this message. I am hoping to see some kickass major mods in a few months, and I'm very optimistic, because this game is easier to mod than the previous ones, inspring experienced modders, and attracting the new regiment of talented modders who registered to TWC for the ETW release. Heinz's list is good, but I would also mention warmachine, MrThib, DeadlyBlowfish, InfUA and others... It's quite funny that DARTH VADER was more productive and fixed more bugs in 2 releases than a whole dev team with the not so promising and unreleased 2nd patch - looks like it's up to the modding community to make this game really enjoyable for all of us. At least CA could release some modding tools to help the selfless volunteering work of those who decided to give up their social life in exchange for better uniforms, better battle AI, and an unique epxerience. I shall also be a skirmisher behind these men, maybe a rake or a duelling gentleman, if it's needed. TO BATTAL!
