    Default Dedicated Beta Testers

I'm currently looking for 3 dedicated Beta testers to hunt all the possible bugs before the next version of DTW is released. I feel like the next version should be a pinnacle of both stability and balancing. I will not accept everyone and I definitely do not want people who just want to get their hands on the release before others and never acctually report anything.

It would be good if you had previous experience in proper Beta-testing and are willing to dedicate precious free time (hours upon hours) to improve balance. This will probably mean playing a lot of factions with little respect to acctually enjoying the gameplay, spotting bugs and unbalances, then finally giving suggestions for improvements.

If you feel like you're the right man (or gal if it so happens) for this post info on available time and details about your past experience if possible. Again, I am looking for people who have more than 2 hours to spend per day on just testing gameplay.

Thanks for the support and help keep DTW alive!

Edit: Alexander exe required for betatesting!

Count me in if you like.
EDIT: though I may not be the ideal player as I'm a turtler in the campaign...

I dont have much experience, but i've left numbers of bugs in the bugs thread, including encouraging changing of units. I encouraged you guys to make the Spear Hypasipist less useful, and gained support when convincing you that a more powerful spartan unit needed to be put in the game. I dont know if you can count these as experience, but im used to change the mods i play to a better way of playing it (by suggestioning and that stuff)

And 3 reports in the week would be made, i can promise you that.

As for computer hours, i can spare 3 hours or more a day.

I am really a great DTW fan and i would really like to help with this thing.

Zarax: Having you as a beta tester would be great, since you know how the engine works and can hence provide more than useful suggestions. I do not mind if you turtle the campaign, but I do want you to take special note of faction expansion. As you know, I support a more historical approach to expansion, compared to XGM's radical 'conquer it all' style.
However, how is your available free time, considering your work on XC and such?

jakobh94: Since you seem to have enough time at your hands it would good to have the extra help. I would really like to see campaigns that reach beyond Polybian reforms and the armies that come after that. The barracks still need some adjustments to force the AI to recruit more 'awesomesauce' troops, instead of Warbands for example. I hope you can help me balance that.

There is also one more prerequisite: You must have XFire, I know it's troublesome to most, but it's an effective way to keep in contact most of the time. I don't use MSN because it has lost its appeal and XFire is a lot simpler and comfortable. If you don't have an user, go download and register at http://www.xfire.com, then add me: redfox20
I will provide all details on getting the files there and you will then get access to the Dev forum where you will have your own report thread.

I got more free time for a couple weeks, which i was spending trying M2TW, ETW and a few other games on my new rig... XC needs a bit less time now that I discovered that I don't need faction conversions for the senate plus I wanted to spare some time to have an in-depth look at Diadochii and this is the perfect occasion.
    Installing X-fire as I type.

I'd be glad to help you out on here. I too have 3+ hours a day to check the game-balances. I don't have any modding experience though.

Count me in if you like,

I'd volunteer if I could, but I've already got my hands full beta testing for Megas Alexandros and helping dev Assyria (neither of which I'm having as much time as I thought I'd have for unfortunately). Sorry.

But I will make it a point to report any bugs I run on in DTW.

3 is quite a small number imo you should have around 5 or so playing 3-4 factions each depending on the number of hours they can play. it should be faster esp considering you want us to play until after the polybian reforms and beyond.

i can beta test but only around 1-2 hours weekdays. on fri/sat/sun i can play around 5 hours. no beta testing experience. i havent really suggested too much or anything im just a fan of the mod. im not really a very god betatester but if you need some extra beta testers you can count on me.

RedFox, I'll be beta testing anyway and plan to do it thoroughly. So, I'm in, either as a part of "magnificent" three or as "outcast" tester .

Do you have Alexander? Other than that, it wouldn't be bad to get more testers, though there is not much to test before Suppanut fixes the traits, which is what causes most of the crashes.

We will be needing a lot more beta testers for the next versions. We are desperately trying to hunt down the cause of the crashes, without any solid results. If you truly wish to help and are not scared to have your DTW crash over and over and over and over again while I make tiny changes, this is something you can help me with.
You won't need Alexander to help me either, but I'm expecting full dedication.

Sigh... Is the new Diadochi going to require Alex.exe? Please, God, say no.

I would really like to torture you at the moment. But unfortunately it doesn't. If you were smart enough to check the Downloads thread, you would have noticed all the necessary information you ever needed. I know I'm being a real right now, but I'm beginning to get annoyed by the not-so-very-welcome inquiries you guys post all over the forums.

    Edit:

On a side note, MABUS2012, If you do have XFire, you should add me: redfox20. It would be great to have your help on debugging the latest release. There are still some things that must be finished for the campaign to fully work again... Our desperate bug-hunting resulted in completely stripping the campaign, so it will take a lot of work.

Hey, I might not be the sharpest knife in the spoon, but I have. It's just I had a moment of panic at the thought of losing another great mod to the advances of ALX.exe.

Consider it a backhanded compliment -- and also, I believe this is the first query I've made, ever, in this forum.
