    Default ATI 4870 issue

    Hi Guys,
I've searched this forum and have read a lot of posts where people with much less powerful computer could play without any problems. Somehow my computer has problems when navigating on campaign map especialy when I select a fleet in the sea. FPS drops drasticaly and it realy annoys me. I've downloaded new drivers and applied the patch but still have the same problems. Did anybody else had same problems?

    Thanks,

    Core Due E6600
    3 Gigs Ram
    ATI 4870 512 Megs
    Windows XP

Same card no problems, clicking on naval unit do have a minor delay (like 0,5-1sec) but other than that no campaign map lag what so ever.

Early game it is not really a problem as there are only brigs/sloops with very short ranges. Our problem arises when the game progresses. One gets first rates and techs up things like copper hulls(which increases campaign map movement). I have tested this myself.

The real, yet impractical solution to this problem would be to put a sloop in each armada. I hope that clears things up for you guys. cheers
