Technically I beleive its called "cellometal", but would you still be willing to define this performance as classical? Really the only thing metal about it is the showmenship and the drumkit, but really a drumkit is just an assembly of classical insturments is it not?

It depends on what do you mean by "classical". If you mean classical instruments, yes, but that's a pretty lame definition. If you mean a classical musical piece, yes, but the performance is a bit dandified - to say the least. Classical music lies in the manner of performance, f.e. there's a conductor, the sound is complex and polyphonic. So I'd say no.

Try this version by Savatage, pretty much pwns the Apocalyptica version

Ain't classic, but who gives a damn anyway. If I want classical music, I will listen to my Beethoven albums, not to a bunch of weirdos who like to show off on stage more than properly playing on their instruments.

    It'd be defined as neo-classical.
