Settings Keep Being Reset on Startup
The title says it all. When I launch the game, it is always back at the same settings [graphics, interface, controls, all of it].
I think it has something to do with the preferences_empire.script file, am I right?
If anyone knows about this and can help me so I can get the settings I want and have the game keep those, I would really appreciate it.

Re: Settings Keep Being Reset on Startup
What operating system are you using.
If you are using Vista what have you done with UAC and where did you install Steam?
If you are using Vista have a read of the first and last links in this thread (it explains some things about Vista) : http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=167821
I find that the game ignores some settings - the unit banners for instance (they are set to 'never' but always appear unless I reset them for the battles) but the basic settings are retained.

Re: Settings Keep Being Reset on Startup
Set your options the way you prefer then exit to desktop and restart the game.
The options save on exit.

Re: Settings Keep Being Reset on Startup
the problems just started 4 days ago. before that, it was working perfectly, and would save my settings each time.
yes i am using vista, and yes i know about what those threads were talking about, and no, they weren't very helpful.
this isnt super important, but i am considering reinstalling if it doesnt start doing what i want soon.

You may need to manually edit your preferences file in your script folder. Mine would not even generate so I had to ask someone for their preferences file and edit it myself. No problems since then.
If you have no preferences file in your script folder, use the one posted on the thread "Could someone please post their preferences file".
